After the Assignment
Mark 6:31 — “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while…”
There are times when faithfulness means working, teaching, serving, building, and pouring into others. There are also times when wisdom means stepping away long enough to be restored.
Jesus understood both.
After ministry, He called His disciples away to rest. Rest was not abandonment of the assignment; it prepared them for what came next.
You do not have to solve tomorrow today.
Receive what God accomplished through yesterday’s obedience. Learn from it. Give Him thanks. Then allow your body, mind, and spirit to be renewed.
Prayer: Father, thank You for every opportunity You give us to serve. Thank You for the lives touched, the Word taught, and the work accomplished through Your grace. Give us wisdom to recognize when it is time to labor and when it is time to rest. Restore our strength, renew our minds, and prepare us for every assignment ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
