Morning Devotion: Love Is Patient, Love Is Kind

1 Corinthians 13:4 — “Love is patient, love is kind.”

Love is easiest to talk about when everything is going well. Its character becomes visible when someone tests our patience, interrupts our plans, or needs more grace than we expected to give.

Patience gives people room to grow. Kindness pays attention to how we speak and act while they are growing. Both call us to slow down and remember how faithfully God has loved us.

Today, someone may need a gentle answer, a listening ear, or another chance. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you recognize that moment. Your response could bring peace where frustration was beginning to take hold.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your patience and kindness toward me. Help me show that same love in my home, my work, my ministry, and every conversation today. Guard my words, steady my heart, and help people experience Your love through the way I treat them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
