Today’s Theme: My Help Comes From the Lord

Psalm 121:1–2 — “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”

It is easy to look at people as the source of what we need.

We look to an employer for income.

A client for opportunity.

A friend for support.

A leader for advancement.

A donor for provision.

A connection for an open door.

But Scripture reminds us of an important truth:

People may be channels, but God is the Source.

The job is not your source. God is.

The client is not your source. God is.

The government is not your source. God is.

The person who promised to help you is not your source. God is.

When we understand this, our faith changes.

We stop panicking when one door closes because we know God has more than one door.

We stop becoming discouraged when someone says no because their “no” cannot cancel God’s “yes.”

We stop placing unbearable expectations on people because we recognize that only God can truly sustain us.

Philippians 4:19 tells us, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Notice that Paul did not say your employer would supply every need.

He did not say your friends would supply every need.

He said, “My God shall supply.”

God may use people, businesses, opportunities, contracts, ministries, unexpected blessings, or circumstances to provide for you—but the provision ultimately comes from Him.

That means when one channel dries up, your Source has not dried up.

When one opportunity disappears, your Source has not disappeared.

When someone walks away, God has not walked away.

When the numbers do not add up, God is still able to provide.

Abraham learned this when God provided the ram in the thicket.

Israel learned it when manna appeared in the wilderness.

Elijah learned it when God used ravens to bring him food.

Peter learned it when Jesus provided money through a fish.

The disciples learned it when Jesus multiplied a few loaves and fishes to feed thousands.

God has never been limited by the method of provision.

And He is not limited today.

So do not spend your day asking, “Who is going to help me?”

Begin asking:

“Lord, how are You going to provide?”

That small change moves your attention from people to God.

Your responsibility is to remain faithful.

Work diligently.

Use wisdom.

Knock on doors.

Build relationships.

Steward what God has already given you.

But never confuse the instrument with the Source.

A person may sign the check.

A company may issue the payment.

A client may award the contract.

A ministry partner may send the donation.

But behind every legitimate provision is the hand of God.

Today, declare with confidence:

God is my Source.

My provision does not depend entirely upon one person.

My future does not depend upon one opportunity.

My destiny does not depend upon man's approval.

My help comes from the Lord.

And if God provided before, He can provide again.

“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.”

6. Proverbs 3:5–6

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

7. Psalm 23:1

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

8. 2 Corinthians 9:8

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye… may abound to every good work.”

Prayer

Father, thank You for reminding me today that You are my Source.

Forgive me for the times I have looked more toward people than I have looked toward You.

Thank You for every person, opportunity, job, business, ministry partner, relationship, and resource You have used to bless my life. But help me never confuse the channel with the One who provides the blessing.

My trust is in You.

When doors close, remind me that You can open another.

When resources seem limited, remind me that Your supply is unlimited.

When people cannot help me, remind me that Your hand has never become too short.

Give me wisdom to recognize the opportunities You place before me, courage to walk through the doors You open, and faith to trust You when I cannot yet see the provision.

I declare that my life, my family, my ministry, my calling, and my future are in Your hands.

You are Jehovah Jireh—the Lord who provides.

I will not fear.

I will not panic.

I will not place my confidence in man.

I will lift my eyes unto You, knowing that my help comes from the Lord.

Thank You in advance for every provision, every open door, every connection, every resource, and every blessing You are already preparing.

God, You are my Source, and I trust You completely.
